As I sit at the computer this morning, I contemplate spring. This weekend we spring forward. A new beginning. New life around the corner. I find myself thinking of flowers, new plants springing back to life. The trees are beginning to anticipate new growth as the first signs of buds appear. It is a time of wonder, and I wonder what it all means as I see the seasons come and go, fulfilling their time of growth and then once again retreating back into some kind of hibernation, only to spring back to life once again.

We see this in ourselves, in our own lives, for there are great moments when we feel our own expansion, our growth; then there are moments when we retreat, withdraw into some kind of mental framework to regroup, refresh until another great moment arrives and we find ourselves once again feeling life anew as our world expands.

To this I say there is so much more to life than what we perceive. We define, dissect and then think we understand, only to have an incongruity occur, which then makes us rethink, redefine until once again we understand until the next inconsistency happens. This seems to be the way we come to know ourselves.

Thus I see a pattern, a circular motion, a spiral that leads us to a greater understanding of life and reality. Perhaps it is a never-ending pattern, an eternal spiral that speaks of the immortality of spirit.
